The music video for “No Church In The Wild” from Jay-Z & Kanye West. It’s an impressive video but is it all a bunch of sound and fury, signifying nothing? It could have been very effective with an actual message, but instead it’s just as substantial as your average hollywood action sequence. Still, it’s a good video. Directed by Romain Gravas.

Here’s the 35 minute music video saga “Runaway” from Kanye West. The video features nine songs off of Kanye’s upcoming album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. Selita Ebanks plays the fallen angel character “Phoenix”. Love him or hate him, it’s an ambitious effort, and a welcome addition to the multiple song music video saga genre.

This isn’t a regular music video, but more of a digital collage. The artist, Marco Brambilla used these same video collage techniques on Kanye West’s video, “Power”, but this piece is far more impressive in my opinion. Civilization is a video installation for Standard Hotel in New york City. It’s comprised of over 400 video clips and it takes elevator passengers on a trip from hell to heaven as they go up or from heaven to hell as they go down.

Official music video for Kanye West, “Power”. Well this had a bit of hype behind it, and I have to say, it’s kind of a let down. The concept is great, but come on, it’s way too slow and way too short. I was looking forward to an epic, on the lines of the video collage artist’s other work (Civilization by Marco Brambilla), but instead we just got a snack.
